Site Officer - GBA
REQUIRED as soon as possible
Site Officer: 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year: 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the evening (to suit community use). Salary at point 5 – equivalent to a full time salary of £18795 per annum.
Godmanchester Bridge Academy is a recently opened school with a new building and facilities, which will accommodate up to 420 pupils on the Romans’ Edge estate of Godmanchester.
We are looking to recruit a Site Officer who will take pride in the school and has a good range of DIY skills to keep our site well maintained, clean, secure and safe. The role is to ensure the security and upkeep of the school site, completing a planned maintenance programme, including supervision of external contractors.
This role involves split shifts as well as the need to attend emergency call outs, and will include some evening and may include weekend work.
The successful candidate will be reliable, hard-working and flexible. Previous experience of facilities or site maintenance is highly desirable.
Core responsibilities will include:
- unlocking the premises at the beginning of day and securing the premises at the end of the day;
- organisational tasks;
- routine safety checks and basic repairs;
- grounds maintenance;
- Some cleaning tasks;
- Building maintenance;
- dealing with deliveries;
- designated key-holder when alarms are triggered out of hours;
- liaison with contractors.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have high standards, be proactive and able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. They will also need to be flexible to the school's needs.
