Each child is formally assessed at the end of each half term (i.e. six times a year). During the year that provides the opportunity to identify where and when individual interventions are most beneficial, implement these and then evaluate success. A standard test is be used which reduces the variability in the testing and provides a more consistent benchmark both for individual children and across year groups and then over several years. Across a range of learning objectives, the test identifies for each learning objective whether the objective is fully, partially or not met. That pupil assessment then aggregates to create a Class Summary, so identifying where best to focus class effort going forward.
